Is Risk Acceptable?
You CAN Learn Mathematically-OptimiZed Risk Evaluation
Laboratories have used quality control (QC) concepts and theories based on the same statistical calculations and assumptions for decades. Risk management, as stated in Clinical & Laboratory Standards Institute’s (CLSI) EP23A Guideline, adds an ‘acceptable risk criteria.’
Now there is a way to comply with EP23A and also save time, reduce risk to patients, and diminish analytical lab errors and their costs.
The Mathematically-OptimiZed Risk Evaluation™ (M.O.R.E.) method enhances existing QC concepts, while risk metrics unveil a wealth of new understanding – just ‘beyond sigma.’

Zoe Brooks
Zoe Brooks is the visionary behind the M.O.R.E. method, a groundbreaking approach to laboratory quality control.
Zoe C. Brooks, ART, is a consultant, lecturer, and author with a longstanding focus on laboratory quality and risk management. She is Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at ElevateQC, where she contributes to the development of software tools designed to support error reduction and increased efficiency in clinical laboratories. Zoe taught clinical laboratory data analysis for over a decade at Rutgers University and currently leads the team here at M.O.R.E. Quality, an educational initiative aimed at strengthening risk management practices in the lab.
She authored Performance-Driven Quality Control (AACC Press, 2001) and has published over 30 works on quality control, risk management and predictive values of Covid-19 results risk. Her contributions have been recognized by peers, including outstanding speaker awards from AACC and LabVine, and her 2023 ADLM poster, “Impact of Seven Incremental Scenarios of QC
Strategies,” received the award for Outstanding Research in Management Science.
